EMDR, expressive therapy, counseling, Portland

There is a special place in my heart for helping people who have been hurt by life events. Most of us want to forget or bury the painful memories, and yet by sharing these stories one can open the door to healing. I feel honored to bear witness as individuals bravely tell their stories and reclaim their personal power.

What Is a Trauma Processing?

Trauma memories sometimes get stored in the brain differently than other memories. If not processed, the trauma memories can cause a flight, fight, or freeze reaction even when you are safe. Trauma processing helps the brain reorganize the memories so that your nervous system no longer reacts to triggers. EMDR can reprocess the memories so they are no longer activating.

My Practice

My approach is based on my belief that personal challenges can inspire growth and deeper healing when the experiences are processed in meaningful ways. I approach counseling in a supportive environment, based on a warm and dynamic relationship, to facilitate awareness, insight, and compassion.

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
